I am Shumpei Miyakawa, who became the president of ASK from this spring. I am appointed as a professor of the donation course in faculty of medicine, Tsukuba University. I have contributed to sports science as an orthopedic surgeon for many years. We have pursued the prevention and treatment of sports injuries and disabilities, and the construction of rehabilitation for appropriate return to the field from the perspective of basic science and applied science. I find it useful for such journals to be able to share these achievements with Asian sports scientists. During the two-year term, I hope that this magazine will be used for the development of sports science, and that it will be comparable to European Journal Sports Science of the ECSS and the Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise of the ACSM. I would like to make an effort to contribute to AJK, so I am looking forward to your contribution to AJK.
