Abstract |
INTRODUCTION The purpose of this study was to investigate reactive recovery response to an unexpected vertical perturbations during locomotion in female elders. Healthy elderly women who have not had fallen experiences participated in the study. They performed normal gaits and unexpected perturbation gaits. METHOD The maximum knee flexion angle, knee flexion velocity, and knee extension velocity in an unperturbed limb were significantly different in normal and perturbation gait. The maximum knee flexion moment of a perturbed limb in perturbation gait was significantly greater than that in normal gait. There were no significant differences in Maximum Vertical Ground Reaction Force, Loading Impulse, Unloading Impulse, Braking Impulse, and Accelerating Impulse between perturbation and normal gait. The muscle response did not significantly differ in perturbation and normal gait. RESULT The result showed that perturbation gait up to the knee flexion, maximum flexion and maximum extension angular velocity and angular velocity during walking gait dinneun feet with the maximum knee flexion moment compared to the normal gait showed no significant difference. But the perturbation limb the vertical ground reaction force, the load impulse, non-load impulse, braking impulse and the acceleration impulse is in the walking and did not show significant differences, but also walking and regular perturbation limb of a statistically significant difference in EMG variables did not appear. The perturbed limb produced flexion strategy and the unperturbed limb generated extension strategy to prevent a fall. CONCLUSION The conclusion showed that perturbation limb of the elderly do not gait more than a limb flexion and walking not the opposite limb left a lot more than walking. Further research not as an arm of the movement, as well as what it means to find out whether the reaction is thought to be. |
